Week 5: My Turkey Weekend! (minus the turkey)

My thanksgiving weekend was aWeSoMe. I flew back home to Prince George to spend some time with my family and boyfriend so it was an action packed three days.

I got into town later on Friday night and just hung out with my people for bit before heading to bed. In the morning, we packed up the car, loaded the mountain bikes and the dog, and hit the road for Mackenzie ( a two hour drive north) where we spent the day biking around in the high alpine.

After biking, we drove to Powder King (only half an hour from Mackenzie) to sleep at our cabin. After doing a thorough search for pack rats (really fat squirrel like things that pee on everything) and eating a tasty lamb chop dinner, my brother, boyfriend, and I went out to mess around on the quad before heading to bed.

In the morning, we quaded up to the top of the ski hill. It was vErY muddy but incredibly gorgeous, I wish I had taken some photos. By lunch we were driving back into town and before I knew it I was headed out to Berman lake to my boyfriend’s cabin. There we went wake surfing (on october 10th!!!! Nice weather that late in the season is basically unheard of!) and had a grand feast (with chicken instead of turkey which I much prefer).

Sunday was a bit slower paced. We carved pumpkins and picked apples and then it was time for me to catch my flight back to Victoria… This thanksgiving was definitely pretty different because both sets of my grandparents were away traveling so my family didn’t have a big feast all together. I wasn’t to sad about it though because I will get to see them all when I go home for reading break. 🙂

(I am so proud of my pumpkin this year. I hope you enjoy it to.)
