Inquiry 3: Thanks Pinterest

This marks the beginning of my exploration in marketing.

I have a basic understanding of marketing from my experience selling a few of my paintings but otherwise, no professional knowledge. Right now, I have no plans on taking any marketing courses as I want to keep my business fairly casual but I would consider it if I decide to expand later on. For now, some online research and advice from other business owners will suffice.

This week, I have been researching online resources that will help me gain recognition for my work. All the websites I have collected so far came from the best app ever, Pinterest.

ArtMaze Magazine

  1. Art Maze Mag is an international magazine that allows amateur artists to submit their art for a chance to be featured in a monthly edition of the magazine. This is a great way to get feedback and recognition from professionals. Unfortunately I missed the deadline this month but I plan on submitting a piece sometime this year.

2. The Abundant Artist supplies artists with tons of free advice on how to improve their websites. When I have enough art to sell, I would like to create another website to display my art so that my clients have an easy way to view it all.

3. ARTSQUARE will be a particularly useful resource for me because it allows people to sell art on various platforms while managing the sales from one site. At the moment, I am only using my Instagram account ( nova_long_7) to display my art online but eventually, having more accounts (such as on Etsy, Facebook, etc.) would be ideal.
