Christmas day…
Santa brought us a Christmas tree! It was standing in the living room this morning, decked out with cookie cutters and the gingerbread houses we made last night… It was a very special surprise:) Jul tomte (Swedish Santa a.k.a Stig) came to hand out gifts and then we all had breakfast which consisted of cheese, eggs, and reindeer sausage (I felt a little guilty about that last one).

After breakfast, we headed to the cross-country ski trails (the ski hill was open, but we wanted to change it up a bit). One of the ski hill employees was having a little fire and giving out free sausages at the trailhead. There was also a tiny racetrack that we all completed (and were awarded participation medals:).

Once we were done skiing, everyone just relaxed in the cabin for most of the day. Bella and I spent a good 5 hours building a miniature Lego set that she got for Christmas (and even then, we were only halfway done it). My parents made a classic Canadian turkey for dinner:)

The Jydes made it to the cabin at 10:00pm this evening!! Two of the kids are still not feeling well but we’re still happy they were able to make it.
