We made it! Even better… We made it on time!!
Despite some minor delays and a sprint through the London-Heathrow airport, travel went smoothly. Our luggage didn’t get quite so lucky… The short layover in London meant that mom and dad’s cloths as well as our ski gear have yet to make it to Stockholm. Mine and Es’s bag got here though so we can share some clothes and jackets with our parents which is lucky because it is PG weather here (-15 ish with lots of snow!).
Another fun little event was getting our rental car. We were all very excited to hear that we would be renting the companies newest car which was some sort of Mercedes… We found out a little to late that it was a small Mercedes and, although very sporty and cool, does not have the leg room that dad requires nor the proper winter tires for the 800km drive to the ski hill that we will be doing on the 21st… So sadly the sports car will have to go and it will be back to SUV life for the Longs.
Anyway, we are now staying with family friends (the Waaras) in Spanga just outside of Stockholm. The hosts are great and our accommodations are luxurious (the shower is a crowd favourite)!
The plan for the day: return the rental car, go see some viking stuff, and group dinner. Stay tuned:)
